Category One:

Category Two:

The common term for category two liquid is “grey water.” Water in this category has some level of contamination that may cause illness if ingested.

Common sources include dishwasher or washing machine overflows, flush from sink drains, and non-feces contaminated toilet overflow.

Category Three:

This is the most serious category of contamination and is completely unsanitary. A common term for category three liquid is called, “black water” and it can cause severe illness or death even death, if ingested.

Sources include sewer backup, flooding from rivers or streams, toilet overflow with feces, and stagnant liquid that has begun to support bacterial growth.
